First off, Thank you!!
When I first started to draw at some point I told myself I wasn’t going to draw hands behind the back, in pockets, or being hidden by any object or thing.
I basically forced myself to draw a bunch of horrible hands and that REALLY helped me for the future.
I still don’t draw hands well when it comes to perspective but I like to believe I draw them pretty decent normally.
Here’s some sketches from step to step that might help you!
I scanned them at a high resolution and kept the original size. So just click the image, right click open image in new tab and boom! huge image file. (Make sure the image loads fully before opening in new tab. You might get the small version first, just re-do it and you’ll get the larger one!)
I made it more grey than normal so you can see everything, I don’t always use guide lines for hands but sometimes I do and sometimes I’ll also use my own hands for reference if I’m unsure how to draw it.
I’m pretty bad at explaining things but I basically use really simple shapes at first then I add detail. If you look at your hands you can basically see a sorta square with a triangle attached to the side. but if you look at your palm it’s more of a square with a circle because of that thumb pad part.
Just keep practicing the shapes and you’ll get it in no time.
I hope this helps you!
I have two anon asks asking about art advice. I just want to let you know I’m working on answering both so don’t think I’m ignoring them! <3
I also once got an anon ask about drawing swords I think?? I actually have very little experience so I will not be answering that one. My apologies!!
I’ve been wanting to draw more colorfully lately and what better than to draw Greple?
I’m gonna draw Piue too!
